When earthquakes struck Venezuela, our community launched a fundraiser with every dollar donated directly to Global Empowerment Mission for emergency relief. Neighbors helping neighbors.

Come for the day, stay for the weekend
Our meetups are free, family friendly and capped in size to protect the land. Announcements go out on Instagram and YouTube. Registration is first come, first served.
The format
What a SOFLO meetup looks like
Morning: drivers' briefing
Route plan, radio channels, recovery order and trail etiquette. New folks get paired with experienced spotters.
Midday: the ride
A guided convoy through public trails at a family pace. Nobody gets dropped, nobody gets left stuck.
Afternoon: cookout and comms
Cookout lunch, ham radio activations with Parks on the Air, kids activities and gear show-and-tell.
Optional: camp overnight
Registered vehicles stay for campfire conversations under some of the darkest skies in South Florida.
Camping at preserve meetups is limited (12 vehicles at our Big Cypress event) with advance registration required. Day visitors are always welcome.

Big Cypress Meetup: adventure, community, conservation
A full family meetup at Pinecrest Group Campground with guided rides, ham radio (POTA), cookout lunch, kids activities and overnight camping, hosted with South Dade GMRS.
2025 Expedition · North Georgia
The Georgia Traverse
9 rigs and 14 people crossed the North Georgia mountains: Popcorn Creek crossings, mountain camps and campfire conversations that became one of our most-loved video series.

Okaloacoochee Slough meet up and ride
A convoy through one of the wildest sloughs in South Florida, documented from the air by Aerial Recon Media.

Yucca Pens WMA rides 1.0 and 2.0
Our biggest turnout yet: 17 rigs and 25 passionate souls navigating pine flatwoods, sharing stories and holding a friendly cafecito challenge in the heart of nature.

K9 search and rescue support
We ride alongside Canine to the Rescue, whose overland-ready fleet supports search, rescue and relief missions with working dogs across the region.
Local charity events
From the annual vintage car show benefiting the LA6 Foundation and local charities to community talks at radio clubs, we show up for South Florida year round.
